Run Forest Run


Lesson: The main objective of today’s lesson is Punt Return/Kick Return. The teacher will review on what is the main point of Punt Return/ Kick Return is.
Return a kick
This is when the special teams get the ball during a punt or kick return and the returning team runs as far as they can to the opposite side of the field and tries not to get tackled down.


Psychomotor domain: The students will be able to practice the motor skills of returning a kick while trying to avoid be caught. The students will try to use these skills to be successful in the game.
Cognitive Domain: The students will learn the skills needed to accomplish the goal of the lesson. The students will learn how to handle a kick off.
Affective Domain: The students will learn how to use teamwork and coordination to help make this lead up game successful.

Lead up game
1) After the warm-ups and stretching, then the teacher will instruct on what to do next.
2) The teacher will then review the skills of blocking
3) When the students are done asking questions if any they will go over the rules of the lead up game.
4) The class will be broken up into four groups of 5-6 students and all four teams will be on opposite ends of the gym of one another so nobody get injured.
5) The lead up game is called Run Forest Run.
6) Their will be a cone on each corner showing where out of bounce is and the field will be shorter so the scoring can have a better chance of happening.
7) When one player receives the ball the rest of team can use their past techniques that they have learned like blocking and/or a Lateral pass.
8) The opposite has to pull the flag off the offensive player with the ball or they will play by the 2 hand touch rule.
9) Whoever scores the most touchdowns win.
